When Sparrow next woke, the pain was nearly gone. Cormy was leaned back on his haunches, and from her angle, Sparrow could only just see the tips of his horns. The squire clenched her teeth tight to keep from crying out as the two hatchlings changed her bandaging, and she was almost grateful for the distraction when Cormy began to speak again.
